How do I scan a receipt?
Open Receipto and tap the camera button. Position your receipt within the frame, ensuring it's well-lit and flat. The app will automatically detect and scan your receipt using AI-powered OCR technology.
Can I edit receipt details after scanning?
Yes! Tap any receipt from your list to open the detailed edit view. You can modify merchant names, dates, individual items, prices, and even add custom categories. Switch between Basic and Advanced editing modes for more control.
How do I export my receipts?
Go to Settings and tap "Export Receipts". Choose your date range (today, last 7 days, this month, or custom range) and select your preferred format (PDF or CSV). Perfect for expense reports and tax preparation.
Does Receipto support multiple currencies?
Receipto automatically detects currencies from your receipts and supports international formats. You can also set your preferred currency in Settings for consistent tracking.
How do I search through my receipts?
Use the search bar at the top of your receipts list. You can search by merchant name, amount, date, or any text that appears on your receipts. The search works across all your stored receipt data.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes! Receipto is offline-first and privacy-focused. All your receipt data stays on your device. We offer three modes: fully offline, anonymous sync, or account-based sync - you choose your privacy level.
What do the spending analytics show?
Your dashboard displays total spending, monthly totals, receipt count, and top spending categories. This helps you track expenses and understand your spending patterns over time.
Troubleshooting
Receipt scanning issues
- Ensure good lighting and avoid shadows
- Place receipt on a flat, contrasting background
- Make sure the entire receipt is visible in the frame
- Clean your camera lens if text appears blurry
OCR accuracy issues
- Manually edit any incorrect merchant names or amounts
- Faded or damaged receipts may require manual entry
- Use the Advanced editing mode for detailed item corrections & Change currency
General troubleshooting
- Force close and restart the app
- Check for updates on the App Store
- Restart your device if issues persist
